DESCRIPTION:

Immediate opportunity available.  Full-time, time-limited (18 months) position. Funded from January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.  This position is funded by the National Council on Aging and is subject to ongoing funding.

Seeking a bi-lingual social work professional to be a Benefits Enrollment Specialist.  The Benefits Enrollment Specialist (BES)  is responsible for screening and completing 1,100 applications for Medicare beneficiaries for the following needs-based core assistance programs: Medicaid, Medicare Savings Program (MSP), Low-Income Subsidy Extra Help for Medicare Part D Program (LIS), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program (EHEAP).

The BES explains needs-based program eligibility rules and processes to prospective applicants.  The BES screens clients using www.benefitscheckup.org.   The BES completes appropriate applications, assists applicants with acquiring forms and compiling required documentation, provides technical assistance, and coordinates with eligibility determination professionals.  The BES inputs aggregate information on screenings and enrollments in NCOA’s monthly reporting tool.  The BES attends at least one required regional NCOA Enrollment Conference requiring overnight out-of-state travel and lodging.

Salary $34.015.20 annual salary + excellent benefits. EOE.

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, gerontology or related social service field plus one year of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in another field and two years of work experience.  Professional human service experience as a caseworker, case manager, intake specialist, or related work experience with the long-term care population may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.  Ability to relate to older persons and persons with disabilities and to be able to deal with the general public effectively over the telephone and in person in a receptive manner.   Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute on a PC, and possess strong grammatical and spelling skills.  Bi-lingual English and Spanish required.  Ability to pass a Level 2 background check.  Knowledge of and compliance with HIPPA.  Cannot have a conflict of interest.  Cannot have a license to sell insurance.

Description:

Immediate full-time opportunity available, for a Grant Writer/ Planner to identify funding opportunities and write winning proposals in support of our programs, across a wide range of institutional donors (foundations, corporations, government). The incumbent will be an outstanding proposal writer with experience working under pressure to create a concise, persuasive narrative that responds to the donor’s needs. The incumbent also supports Planning functions by conducting research, identifying the health needs of elders, analyzing and evaluating programs and policies, implementing community health planning and assessment initiatives, compiling information, statistics, analysis and recommendations on health issues affecting elders in Dade and Monroe Counties.

Requirements:

Master’s degree (preferred) in Planning, Public Administration, Public Health, or related field.  Two years of experience in planning, research, and/or evaluation of public health/social programs. Minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience writing successful proposals (writing samples required). Knowledge of health and human services systems essential.  Excellent problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills. Strong initiative and follow-through on responsibilities. Exceptional conceptual, analytical, writing and editing skills, including the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise narratives. Strong proposal management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, time management, adherence to tight deadlines, orientation to detail, and the ability to handle multiple activities. Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills. Excellent written and oral communications skills and fluency in English.

Aging & Disability Resource Center Specialist                          12/7/2017

DESCRIPTION:

Immediate full-time opportunities available, for experienced professionals to assist older adults and adults with disabilities to access long-term care Medicaid program information and eligibility. Candidates will be responsible to identify and link clients with community resources, provide program education and client intake / screening, and to facilitate access to long-term care programs. Candidates will assist in the preliminary determination of programs and services best suited to serve the needs (long-term and immediate) of seniors and adults with disabilities. Salary $31,250, EOE.

 REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of community resources and service delivery system for seniors and adults with disabilities, and non-profit experience helpful. Computer skills required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or human services related field. Experience in information & referral, client screening, assessments, case management, intake, social work, Medicaid programs and applications, social services, crisis intervention, or related work experience with the long-term care client population preferred.
